Welcome!

Who should read this free online Mac OS X Tutorial?
- you've just bought a Mac
- you've considered to buy a Mac
- you're about to switch to Mac OS X
- you switched from MS Windows to Mac OS X
- you are a Mac user with a problem or a question
- you're just curious about the Mac? You've come to the right place: expect a lot of pictures!

This Apple Macintosh Tutorial has been updated until Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger). Updates will come and go on an irregular time-schedule. To categorize the huge amount of information, I've colored some sections:

Plain text: suitable for beginners

Text in a blue section = SWITCH TIP especially for Switchers (users who choose to switch from the MS Windows to the Mac OS X operating system)

Text in an orange section = TIPS (absolute beginners should skip these at first)

Text in a red section = WARNING (important to all Mac users)

Text in a green section = BACKUP TIP (important to all Mac users)

In case you are a totally newbie to the Mac, it's best to use the small orange triangles at the end of every Chapter to lead you through this tutorial.

Note: This tutorial is a work in progress and has been translated from the original Dutch into English. Use the Dutch flags to navigate to the Dutch version of every chapter.
